Your Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Dublin (Tuesday)
On Arrival at Dublin airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to unwind and relax after your journey.
Day 2 Dublin's 'Fair City' (Wednesday)
The full day is yours to explore Dublin’s ‘Fair City’, an ancient and cosmopolitan city as intimate as a village, and friendly as a pub. A Dublin Bus Hop on / Hop off ticket (valid for 24 hours) will be provided to make it easy for you to get around. You will have plenty of time to do some shopping around fashionable Grafton Street and/or visit some of the city’s museums and attractions. (B)
Day 3 Wicklow & Kilkenny (Thursday)
Leaving Dublin we travel south along Dublin Bay via Dun Laoghaire into the Wicklow Mountains and visit Glendalough, site of a 6th century monastic settlement founded by St. Kevin. We continue across the mountains to Kilkenny, Ireland’s premier medieval city. (B, D)
Day 4 Midleton & Cobh (Friday)
Enroute to Cork this morning we pass thru’ the coastal towns of Dungarvan and Youghal and view the largest pot still in the world on a tour of the Old Midleton Distillery. Then to nearby Cobh, which was the last port of call of the ill-fated Titanic. Cobh’s historic and maritime story is brought alive in the splendid Interpretive Centre. (B, D)
Day 5 West Crok & Lakes of Killareny (Saturday)
We follow the River Lee this morning to its source at Gougane Barra Lake. Then it’s over the Shehy Mountains to sub-tropical Glengarriff on Bantry Bay and through Turner’s Rock Tunnel to Kenmare. We continue to Killarney on the Ring of Kerry road to Killarney National Park and visit the Traditional Farms which preserve the farming traditions of rural Ireland in the past. (B, D)
Day 6 Dingle Peninsula (Sunday)
We stop at Blennerville, the port from which many Kerry people emigrated during the 19th century famine and visit the Windmill Visitor Centre for an audio-visual on Blennerville’s colourful history. Afterwards a tour around the Dingle Peninsula, an area rich in antiquities ranging from Iron Age stone forts to beehive huts and then we will visit the thriving fishing port of Dingle. (B, D)
Day 7 Cliffs of Moher & Burren (Monday)
This morning we cross the Shannon Estuary by ferry and enter to county of Clare where our destinations are the Cliffs of Moher, which stretch for over 5 miles between Hag’s Head and O’Brien’s Tower and the vast limestone plateau in northwest Clare known as The Burren. This evening join the Earl of Thomond for a glorious Medieval Banquet in a 15th century castle. (B. D)
Day 8 Tour Ends (Tuesday)
Your tour ends after a final hearty Irish breakfast in your hotel. A transfer will be provided to Shannon Airport for those returning home today or to Dublin for those extending their stay. (B)
